I have spent the majority of my professional career investigating the sensations of the various stages of being, through the act of expressive painting. As one goes through life there are countless emotions and levels of consciousness that can not be described through a verbal language. My paintings serve as a means to bridge the gap between my personal experiences and those of the people around me. I’m intrigued by the universal language that the work creates through the emotional responses that they evoke in the viewer. When an image is stripped of all tangible or objective imagery what are we left with? And, further more, how is that image able to result in such a relatable, yet unique, sense of nostalgia?
